Adaptation B: Fully Textured
I have now added all the textures to the building, and so now I need to get the lighting all sorted. I'm pleased with how it's going so far, as while each texture was being added it made it look a lot better, which is good, obviously. I think I'll still tweak a few colours in certain areas, however, as I don't think it looks very "Scrooge" at the moment.

The roof tiles are a very nice piece of detail :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Julien. I'm quite pleased with them as well. :)
DeletePerhaps what it needs is a bit of dirt. Where corners meet, like in-between the wooden panels and where the roof meets the walls.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to get that effect in places, but didn't quite turn out how I'd hoped, once I applied the textures. Thanks for the advice, Mark. I'll try to get that sorted. :)
DeleteDan - Come and see me with your work or send me your files (with textures if possible). I'll show you how to light your work. Alternatively you can watch this video...

In short you can create quick lighting using ambient occlusion in your shaders. It will give you the feel of 'dirt' in gaps where your shapes meet.
Ironically, I'm watching that tutorial now. I'll post that as soon as possible.
DeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteNice work Dan! Almost there :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Kayliegh! :)
